About the hike

Trip Date: Saturday, February 14, 2026 (Valentine's Day)

We invite you to a hike on the peaks of the Vlădeasa Mountains to celebrate Valentine's Day in a unique way! We will explore the Vlădeasa Ridge and visit the "Piatra Tâlharului" Mountain Refuge, built by the Romanian Alpine Club (CAR) Cluj Branch.

The Story of Our Trail The CAR Refuge:

Strategically placed, this modern, thermally insulated, and durable refuge represents an essential safety point and an ideal starting base for exploring the Massif. We will have the opportunity to visit it and enjoy a brand-new shelter.

The Mystery of the Name and Valentine's Day: The name "Piatra Tâlharului" (The Thief's Rock) gives us the perfect opportunity for the wordplay of the day: Since your heart has already been stolen, let’s celebrate Valentine's Day at Piatra Tâlharului! The trail is long and requires endurance – just like true love!

In short: A long trip about the satisfaction of reaching a newly inaugurated refuge and about spectacular views, worthy of admiring in pairs (or in a group!).
