We invite you to explore the scenic Via Transilvanica with us, on a journey from Rasnov through authentic mountain villages to Bran. Together, we will admire breathtaking panoramas of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains.

About the hike

Date: Saturday, March 28, 2026 or Saurday 28 to Sunday 29 March 2026

Meeting point: Râșnov / Valea Glăjăriei or we depart together from Bucharest.


Participation Options

You can choose to join us only for Saturday's hike or stay for the entire weekend, alongside our groups from Bucharest and Cluj.


Day 1: Saturday, March 28th – The Story of the Trail

We set off Saturday morning from Rasnov (Valea Glajariei), following the Via Transilvanica route. We will hike through authentic mountain villages, with excellent views of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains.

Relaxation Break: We’ll stop for a coffee or tea at a mountain hut above the villages, where we can enjoy the peace and the scenery.

End of the day: We descend towards Bran among the villagers' houses, discovering the authentic beauty of mountain life.


Day 1 Route Information:

  • Itinerary: Rasnov - Via Transilvanica - Bran

  • Elevation gain: 400m

  • Distance: 14 km

  • Approximate duration: 6 hours (including breaks)

  • Trail type: Linear (If we travel by minibus, it will pick us up at the end; otherwise, we will take public transport back to Rasnov)

  • Difficulty: Easy


Day 2: Sunday, March 29th – Magura Branului (Optional)

If you choose the full weekend option, on Sunday we will explore the area above Bran and its mountain villages. We will spend Saturday evening at a local accommodation and have dinner at a restaurant or guesthouse.

Day 2 Route Information:

  • Itinerary: Bran - Magura Branului - Predelut - Via Transilvanica - Bran

  • Elevation gain: 800m ascent

  • Length: 12 km

  • Approximate duration: 7 - 8 hours (including breaks)

  • Trail type: Loop

  • Difficulty: Moderate (no technical sections or exposed areas)


Who is it for?

This event is dedicated to those seeking a reasonable challenge and a special scenic exploration experience. The trail is perfect for you if:

  • You have a good physical condition and are prepared to cover a distance of 10 - 15 km in a single day.

  • You are not afraid of winter-specific mountain terrain (cold, snow, spectacular views).


Required Equipment

  • Mountain boots (mandatory) – waterproof, with good grip.

  • Gaiters

  • 20 - 25l backpack with waterproof cover

  • 3-layer clothing, including a waterproof jacket

  • Down jacket

  • Ski / sun goggles

  • Sunscreen

  • 1.5 - 2 liters of water and food (lunch snack)

  • Trekking poles

  • Hat, gloves (2 pairs), buff


Practical Details


Hike cost: 

  • 195 RON/person for 1 day hike

  • 350 RON/person for 2 day hike (accommodation not included)

The price includes:

  • Mountain hiking guide / Certified International Mountain Leader

  • Full assistance throughout the entire trip

  • Collective equipment


Transport: We will organize based on the number of people, either by rented minibus or in personal cars

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation more than 7 days before: Full refund or transfer to a future trip.

  • Cancellation less than 7 days before: For organizational reasons, a refund is not possible, but we offer the flexibility to join another future trip.

  • Weather conditions: We reserve the right to cancel the hike in dangerous weather conditions (ice, blizzard, red alert), and the money will be fully refunded.
