The Story of the Route
Complex Circuit: The route is divided into two complementary sections:
Part I - Fairytale Gorge (Relaxation): We start the circuit with an easy walk along the Someșul Cald . We will cross wooden bridges, admire mini-waterfalls and step on rust leaves, or snow:) This section offers a state of total relaxation and, if we are lucky, we will be greeted by snowdrops and cranberries that are starting to emerge from under the snow. We arrive at Poiana Dâlboaca (Moara Veche) and the first viewpoint, Dâlboaca .
Part II - Ridge (Panorama): We continue with the sustained climb (D+ concentrated) to the ridge of Dealu Pietrelor . From here, we will visit six viewpoints, including the spectacular Colții Șoimului . The wide panorama of the gorge, the hamlet of Rusești and the Apuseni Mountains on the horizon is truly impressive! The final descent is on a wide road back to Rusești.

It is a new route in Gilău, offering a unique destination.
The distance and elevation difference are moderate (13 km, 500 m D+), perfect for breaking out of the winter doldrums.

Weather conditions: We reserve the right to cancel the hike in dangerous weather conditions (ice, blizzard, code red), and the money will be fully refunded.

Rusești Circuit → Dâlboaca → Falcon's Tooth Ridge → Rusești
Required Equipment
Mountain boots (required) – Waterproof, with grippy soles (we expect patches of mud, ice or residual snow).
3-layer clothing (required) – Make sure you have a layer of protection against the cold wind on the ridge (softshell/hardshell).
Thermos with hot tea, water and food (snack for lunch).
HIGHLY recommended: Rubber corners (claws) for boots (for safety on icy sections) and trekking poles.
