The Story of the Route
We invite you to discover the magic of winter in the Ciucas Mountains, one of the most spectacular massifs of the Eastern Carpathians. During the two days we will cross snowy ridges and explore the emblematic points of the area, in a fairytale winter landscape.
We were traveling to the Ciucas Mountains on Saturday morning.
The two days will offer us a complete winter mountain hiking experience, without following fixed daily routes, but exploring the most spectacular areas of the massif depending on the weather.
During the two days we will reach Ciucas Peak, we will walk the impressive Zaganului Ridge, we will climb Gropsoarele Peak, we will spend the night at the Ciucas Chalet, we will explore the Red Mountain, the Tigaile Mari and the Bratocea Peak - all of this dressed in the white cloak of winter.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation more than 7 days in advance: Full refund or transfer to a future tour.
Cancellation under 7 days: For organizational reasons, no refund is possible, but we offer you the flexibility to join another future tour.
Weather conditions: We reserve the right to cancel the hike in dangerous weather conditions (ice, blizzard, code red), and the money will be fully refunded.

Itinerary
Saturday, March 14: Arrival in Ciucas + Tour + Evening at the chalet
We will go together to Valea Berii, Cheia, either from Bucharest or Cluj, or we will meet directly there. The route will be chosen depending on the weather and the dynamics of the group.
In the 2 days we will explore the following: Ciucas Peak, Zăganului Ridge, Gropsoarele Peak, Ciucas Chalet, Red Mountain, Tigăile Mari, Bratocea Peak
Sunday, March 15: Tour + Return to Bucharest / Cluj
We leave the chalet, take a walk and go down to the cars. Departure from Valea Berii around 3 - 4 in the afternoon
Required Equipment
Winter mountain boots (all-season boots are also ok, with wool socks)
25 - 30 liter backpack
3-layer clothing, including a waterproof jacket
Down jacket
Cabin clothes
Ski goggles / sunglasses
Sunscreen cream
1.5 - 2 liters of water and food (snack for lunch every day)
Trekking poles (mandatory if we use snowshoes)
